Here are some of my favorite pictures from Marc & Heidi's wedding at Market Street Grill. Marc & Heidi are such an adorable couple! Their day was absolutely perfect!

Fear

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing my FIRST wedding! My friends friend was getting married and they needed an affordable photographer. My friend Sienna knew I was trying to get into photography so she sent her my way. Can I tell you how shocked and blessed I felt that Heidi decided that she would choose me to photograph what will probably be one of the most special days of her life? I felt so blessed and excited. And then the fear set in...I've never photographed a wedding. Never even second shot a wedding. The only thing I did have on my side was that I have been a bride myself. Heidi and I first chatted in December so I had a couple months to be SCARED!! And here is the truth Internet...I wanted to back out. Everyone around me had confidence in me but I was not buying into their kind words. I would read forums and they would only make me more afraid. Afraid that something was sure to go wrong, and afraid that I didn't have a backup camera among other things. I wanted so bad to succeed and give Heidi some great pictures of her special day. The wedding day came...I couldn't sleep the night before and I woke early. I was so nervous that I was making myself physically sick. I knew I had to have a talk with myself...When I arrived I was the first one there of any of the wedding party. I was warmly welcomed by the host at the door. I made a decision to put my game face on and act like I knew what I was doing. And I did. I met Heidi for the first time that day and she was so kind and warm. Her smile made me feel like I was a good friend. The day went smooth, the wedding was beautiful! When I got in my car at the end of the day I got very emotional. I grew not only as a photographer that day but as a person as well. Overcoming fear is HARD, but if you don't overcome your fears you cannot grow.
I know my pictures are not "perfect" but I know they are perfect for Heidi. Thank you Heidi for giving me a chance!

Recent Photography

I've been very bad at updating my blog. I really need to start blogging right after a shoot so I don't get behind.

Isn't he sweet? This little guy stole my heart and such a looker! I mean seriously what a cute baby!

Proud parents!

I also finally got to photograph some seniors. These guys were so much fun! They are brother and sister, both graduating this year.

Gabby

I've been such a slacker on my blog. My new camera = larger files = longer to upload. I need a lesson on how to re size without losing quality. Anyway today was the first photo shoot I have done since the week before Christmas. I enjoyed the break but it feels so good getting back into what I love. I have SO many pictures to post from sessions in November and December...but today, today I took pictures of the absolute sweetest little girl. I processed a few of them so I will give a little sneak peek. She had the best personality...so serious. Man she made us work for her smiles.
I decide that I would start posting what settings I had my camera on. I figure I might help some people. And as a beginner myself...I love this type of info when looking at other photographers pictures.

I love this picture because I think it looks like a studio picture. This was just taken in her room against her white closet with natural sun light coming in the window directly across from her.
~Focal length 50mm, F/2, 1/1600 sec, ISO 1250 ( I know the ISO is high but it helps me be able to have a faster shutter speed especially with unpredictable little ones)No flash.

Krystal and Scott

I met Krystal through my husband. She works with him at Integra. Apparently she saw some pictures that I took of Isaac in his office and asked for my number. We chatted on the phone about what she wanted. From the get go I knew I would love her! She had the cutest Ideas....the scarf, the coffee, the red lamp post...All her ideas! And I loved every single one of them. They are also one of the cutest couples I have ever seen! It was hard to pick my favs from this session.

It's Getting Serious

I've finally decided to dedicate a new blog to my photography. Complete with my very own logo ; ) Things have gotten a little crazy to say the least. When I bought my first camera almost 2 years ago I never thought I would be in this place in such little time. I'm very proud I must say. Thinking back to my very first photo shoot, shooting on "shutter priority" and not knowing too much else about my camera. Didn't have a clue what ISO meant among other things, and over editing my photos. I think I can finally say I've found my style.
The past three months have been so busy for me. Trying to maintain my day job and keeping up with the demands of photography. All word of mouth. I told Johnny the other day "I can't decide if I'm so busy because I'm super cheap, or people actually like my photos" ha ha! either way people keep coming, and I have return clients. I must be doing something right! I'm also SO excited to say that I just purchased the Cannon 7D!! I really wanted the 5D Mark II but, budget calls ; ) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new camera. I cannot believe it took me this long to upgrade!
I'm so excited to see where this road takes me. I'm so blessed to be surrounded by people who believe in me and my dreams!

I will leave you with some recent work.
